Supporting Rheumatic Heart Disease education and treatment

Each year Murra-gahn supports an outreach of choice. Most recently this has been a focus on Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and its prevention. With the ‘Take Heart: Deadly Heart’ outreach program leading the drive.

Reddawn Murra-gahn has worked with the group providing both financial support and continuing distribution of their educational messaging. Take Heart: Deadly Heart, is a campaign for change. They are calling on our government to fund the community-led services that prevent Rheumatic Heart Disease and keep families strong and together.

We are losing two young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Rheumatic Heart Disease every week.

Reddawn has joined with this campaign through our Murra-gahn branch and all 2022 profits from this division of operations were donated to this cause. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples live with RHD at rates 60 times higher than non-Indigenous Australians. We need a health system that works for all of us, not some of us.
